OpenVPN CloudConnexa is the new VPN platform offered by UTech. To enhance network security and provide a more reliable remote connection experience, the University is transitioning our Virtual Private Network (VPN) service from FortiClient to OpenVPN.

For existing FortiClient VPN users:
If you use Forticlient VPN software to access campus resources remotely, you will need to switch to use OpenVPN by May 31, 2026
Transition Timeline:
Available Now: OpenVPN is ready for you to install and use. We encourage you to make the switch today.
May 31st, 2026: Access to the legacy FortiClient VPN will be officially disabled. After this date, FortiClient VPN will no longer connect to the campus network.

OpenVPN offers improved connection stability, broader compatibility across different operating systems, and upgraded security features that better protect university data.
What You Need to Do:
The setup process is simple and should take less than five minutes.

- Follow the prompts to setup OpenVPN and begin using the service.
- Forticlient will continue to work until May 31st, 2026, but we highly recommend testing and using OpenVPN as soon as possible to ensure a smooth transition.
